Certificate of residence

This document proves your residence in Portugal. It is a certificate proving that you currently reside at a specific address in Portugal.

How to obtain it?

You need to go to the Junta de Freguesia where you live

Documents :

- an identification document (Citizen Card or Passport)

- other proofs may be required (rent receipt or NIF or electricity or water bill, ....)

- the signature of Portuguese witnesses who live in the area may also be required

Each Parish Council ( Junta de Freguesia) has its own administrative procedures and may require different documents for different services. It is best to ask before you go.

cost : depends on the parish (at least 5 euros)
